Timberwolves v. Jazz Picks
December 14, 2009
The Utah Jazz will play host to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday, December 14th at 9 PM EST. The early NBA point spreads show that the Jazz are 13-point favorites with the total being listed at 201. The Minnesota Timberwolves have lost four consecutive games coming into tonight’s matchup including a 120-100 rout at the hands of the Sacramento Kings on Saturday. Minnesota got 26 points and 11 rebounds from forward Al Jefferson in their latest loss, but failed to cover the NBA moneyline as a 7-point road underdog, snapping their seven-game ATS winning streak in the process. Minnesota has gone 7-3 ATS over its last 10 games.
The Utah Jazz have won two straight games and three of its last four including a convincing 102-94 win over the Lakers on Saturday. Utah got a fantastic double-double of 20 points and 10 assists from all-star point guard Deron Williams in its win over L.A. to cash in for pro basketball betting enthusiasts as a 2-point home favorite to cash in for backers for the second straight game. Utah has gone a robust 7-3 ATS over its last 10 games overall.
Analysis: The Minnesota Timberwolves have won two consecutive games over the Jazz but won’t make it three in a row tonight pro basketball betting fanatics.
Utah is averaging almost nine points per game more than their counterparts in tonight’s matchup and have heated up nicely over the last two weeks, winning seven of their last nine games. While I like the Utah Jazz to win this game tonight, I think the Minnesota Timberwolves will improve on their 4-1 ATS mark in the last five meetings against Utah by narrowly covering tonight’s high NBA point spread.
In addition to playing the Timberwolves in this contest, I really like the Over and think it is an even better selection than playing the T-Wolves as it has gone a spotless 4-0 in the last four meetings between these division rivals and 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Utah. The Over has played out in six of Utah’s last 10 games and I say it plays out again tonight.
