Nets’ Douglas-Roberts Injures Knee
December 14, 2009
As if things weren’t bad enough for the New Jersey Nets, how they have to worry about an injury to rookie Chris Douglas-Roberts. Coach Kiki Vandeweghe says the Nets are awaiting results of an MRI that Douglas-Roberts had on his left knee. Vandeweghe wasn’t sure how Douglas-Roberts, did play 38 minutes in the 107-91 loss Friday at Indiana, was hurt. If he is forced to miss any significant stretch of time, it would be a definite blow to the Nets. Douglas-Roberts is averaging 16.2 points and New Jersey comes into its game against the Hawks with an NBA-worst 2-21 record.
The Nets were beat up by the Hawks 130-107 and while Douglas-Roberts did not suit up for action, the team is hoping that he will return to practice on Monday.
Stay tuned to his situation as it should have a pretty big impact on if you are playing the Nets with any of your NBA picks. You can bet there will be an adjustment with the NBA point spreads if he is unable to play. Then again, when you are looking to back a team that only has two victories on the season, you are probably going to be getting a pretty healthy amount of points either way.
