Monday Night Football might take center stage, but there are some very good NBA match ups tonight that you should not miss!
It will be interesting to see how Detroit reacts against the Charlotte Bobcats after the news that Allen Iverson is heading there for Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess. Iverson does not seem to fit Detroit’s team-first game plan, but the move could be useful for the Pistons to free up some cap room once Iverson’s contract is fulfilled.
The Sacramento Kings at the Philadelphia 76ers is another game that sticks out. By far the biggest favorite of the day, the 76ers seem to be getting a lot of respect from NBA odds-makers. The Kings have gotten off to an absolutely brutal start, but nearly 12 points is a lot of points to be getting in the NBA. You might want to consider taking the Sacramento Kings +11.5.
The Utah Jazz are 6.5 point favorites at the Los Angeles Clippers. The Jazz were a very good team in the regular season last year, but on the road this line is higher than you’d expect it to be against a Clipper’s team that many consider to be one of the more improved teams in the Western Conference.
For Monday night you’ve also got a Dallas Mavericks team that has been one of the most dangerous teams in the league in recent years, playing against the Cleveland Cavs and one of the most exciting and talented players in the league in Lebron James. The Mavs have great talent in their own right, but have shown a lack of ability to win the big game. It’s early and this isn’t the playoffs, but the Cavs are a likely playoff contender so this game will be a good test for Dallas.
