Merril’s Wolves at Raptors Pick

If you have been looking at NBA handicappers but can’t decide which one to go with, we recommend Steve Merril.  He is on an unreal run right now and he’s has had successful season after successful season in the past.  Nobody does a better job of beating the NBA point spreads on a nightly basis than he does.  Take a look at the winner he posted last night when he went with the UNDER in the Wolves/Raptors game:

Toronto’s practice on Monday did not go too good.  The Raptors’ two best players, Chris Bosh and Andrea Bargnani, left practice early because of injuries.  Bosh was sent home because he’s dealing with a head cold and Bargnani had to leave after spraining his ankle.  They are Toronto’s best offensive options and with both less than 100%, the Raptors will have trouble scoring in tonight’s game.

Minnesota isn’t an offensive juggernaut by any means either.  The Timberwolves are averaging just 92 points per game on 44.1% shooting from the field and a dreadful 28.4% from three-point land.  In their last five road games, the T-Wolves have scored 89 points or less in four of those games.  They do come into this game after scoring 108 points in a home win over the Jazz.  But in games after scoring 100 points or more, the T-Wolves have scored 90, 84, 95, and 95 points in their following games.

The Raptors have been playing lower scoring games lately.  They’ve gone under in three of their last five games, and it really should be four of the last five but they had a push even after going to overtime.  Three of their last four home games have also gone under, and with the possibility of their two offensive weapons either being out or less than at their best, another low-scoring game will be seen tonight.
