Without a doubt Steve Merril is a handicapper who knows how to bet the NBA. He is currently 25-12 on his last 37 NBA picks, good enough for 68% winners. You just can’t expect to duplicate that kind of performance on your own when you don’t spend hours and hours pouring over the NBA lines each day like Steve does. Cleveland’s offense has been on fire as of late. The Cavs have scored 100 points or more in four straight games, and tonight they should have no trouble making it five. Over their last five games, Cleveland is shooting 48.2% from the field and a whopping 46.7% from three-point land. And they’ll be facing a weak Golden St defense that is allowing 114 points per game, 49.5% from the field, and 42.9% from three-point land.

The Cavs are in great form and have a terrific offensive rhythm right now. “We’re getting into our offense,” Anthony Parker said. “We’re not having a lot of those possessions where we just weren’t productive. We’d wait, dribble the clock away, nothing would happen and we’d have to throw up a shot at the end of the shot clock. We don’t have too many of those possessions any more. We’re getting into things quickly. Everybody is more on the same page than they were in the beginning. You go through stretches during the season where you just feel good and the ball seems to go in the hole; guys getting in a rhythm early, knowing when the ball’s going to come to you. As a shooter, when you know the ball’s probably going to come around to you and you’re ready, then that helps out a lot.”

Shaq did not practice on Monday and is listed as doubtful for tonight’s night’s game. Without Shaq on the floor, the Cavs play much smaller and also play at a much faster pace. And that is exactly the way Golden St plays. Even after trading away Stephen Jackson, the Warriors have plenty of offensive firepower to trade points with Cleveland.

Play OVER the total.
