Love Could Return to Minnesota Saturday

December 4, 2009

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love says he may play as soon as Saturday after missing the first 18 games of the season with a broken left hand. He was hurt in the preseason and needed surgery, putting him on the sidelines for the first portion of the season. Head coach Kurt Rambis said after Thursday’s practice that Love will be the one who determines when he is ready to play.

The Timberwolves play at New Orleans on Friday night (where they are 9-point underdogs as listed with the NBA point spreads) and host Utah on Saturday night. Love says the Utah game is the most realistic goal for his return.

Minnesota could sure use their second-year player as the team is just 2-16 this season and have missed Love’s interior scoring and rebounding.
