Lewis Refuses to Re-Enter Game

December 12, 2009

It seemed like a strange incident on Thursday night, when the Orlando Magic were in Utah playing the Jazz.  Rashard Lewis refused to re-enter the game in the second quarter, but Stan Van Gundy said it was no big deal and a one-time thing.  Van Gundy believes the act was not in defiance but in the best interest of the team.  Lewis had two fouls and his replacement was playing well.

Van Gundy does think that Lewis always tries to act in the best interest of the team, and is in no way a selfish player.  The coach went on to say that they have never had a disagreement to this point in their careers and that he wished he got along with everyone as well as he does Lewis.

Still, it was a fishy situation for anyone who took the Magic with their NBA picks on Thursday night.  The media is also going to pick apart any and every little thing when the team loses two straight, after the loss to Utah the team fell in Phoenix on Friday night.  Stay tuned to the NBA point spreads on the Magic all season long to see if you can find any opportunities to bet on them or against them.
