Hamilton Returns to Pistons

December 14, 2009

Richard Hamilton returned to the Detroit Pistons’ lineup Saturday after missing 21 games with a right ankle sprain.  He scored 25 points in Detroit’s opener in Memphis on Oct. 28, but didn’t play again until Saturday’s game against Golden State. It was a big loss for Detroit to not have Hamilton in the lineup, especially offensively since he has led the Pistons in scoring for the last seven seasons.  The return of Hamilton doesn’t mean this team suddenly got up to full speed though, as Detroit is still miss Tayshaun Prince (back), Ben Gordon (ankle) and Will Bynum (ankles).

Hamilton started and was able to go for 38 minutes, scoring 19 points in a 104-95 win.  Detroit may be a team to look at in the coming days as the NBA point spreads may or may not make a big enough adjustment to account for the return of their offensive star.  Don’t be surprised to see some of our experts hop on board the Pistons band wagon with their NBA picks.  Our handicappers look for any advantage they can find, which is why they are able to consistently hit at such a high rate over the course of a season.
