Ben Gordon Ankle Injury

December 10, 2009

The Detroit Pistons were able to beat the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night despite being without guard Ben Gordon.  Gordon had to sit out due to a sprained left ankle.  This is the same ankle he injured back in late November, when he was forced to miss two games before returning to action.

Gordon is a key component to this Detroit offense as he averages 18.7 points per game.  He only played 12 minutes Sunday against Washington before deciding to sit out this one.

This is a tough break for the Pistons, who have been hit hard by injuries early in the year.  Richard Hamilton has a bad ankle and has yet to see any floor time, and Tayshaun Prince has missed significant time with back problems.
