Burns Suns at Knicks Picks
December 2, 2009
If you like easy winners, then take a look at Ben Burns. Last night he cashed in yet again, this time with the Knicks over the Suns. He continues to break the books down with his NBA picks each and every night and will continue to do so for the rest of the season. Don’t mess around with guessing which of the NBA betting lines are worth a wager and which aren’t, let someone as knowledgeable as Ben help you out. Just take a look at how in-depth he was with his Knicks selection last night:
I’m taking the points with NEW YORK. The Suns are on a roll and figure to be a popular pick in this one. However, I expect the Knicks to bring their “A-Game” and look for them to give their guests all they can handle.
The Knicks lost their last game (vs. Orlando) by double-digits. However, they’ve been playing better than many people realize. In fact, prior to the Magic loss, they’d quietly gone 5-1 ATS in their previous six games.
After the Orlando game, New York’s Nate Robinson had this to say of his team: “…I think we’ve improved…We just haven’t got the ‘Ws’ to show for it, but as a team we feel confident. We feel good and we just have to get ready for the next one.”
This game has special meaning to both teams. That’s because, as you’re probably aware, former Phoenix coach Mike D’Antoni is now the coach of the Knicks. Naturally, the Suns would like to beat their old boss. However, I expect D’Antoni to have his new team fully fired up and up for the challenge.
Note that the Suns, who have a big game at Cleveland on deck tomorrow, will be without Leandro Barbosa, who sprained his ankle last time out. Considering that he’d scored double-digits in five straight games, including 17 last time out, that injury is significant.
The Knicks are 4-2 ATS against winning teams this season and they’re also 4-2 ATS against teams from the West. Listed as six point underdogs, they beat Phoenix outright here last season. Including that result, they’re a profitable 7-2 ATS their last nine meetings with the Suns. I expect them to improve on those stats here. 8* Non-Conf Best Bet
