NBA Point Spreads: Bulls vs. Bucks

November 30, 2009

A little Monday night action takes place when the Chicago Bulls head up to Milwaukee to take on the Bucks. The NBA betting lines show that the Bucks are the small favorites here, with a line of -2 over the Bulls. The total has been set at 195.5 and Eric Williams is taking the favorite with his free NBA picks. I guess tonight’s matchup between the division rival Chicago Bulls (6-8 SU, 4-10 ATS, 4-10 O/U) and Milwaukee Bucks (8-7 SU, 9-6 ATS, 9-6 O/U) will be pretty interesting, seeing as how both teams will be trying to snap their respective four-game losing streaks.

The Bulls have also failed to cover the NBA point spread in four straight and were defeated 105-86 by the Utah Jazz on Thanksgiving Day, failing to cover the NBA point spread as a 7.5-point road underdog the last time out.

Luol Deng scored a team-high 26 points, but the offensively-challenged Bulls may be in need of the assistance of veteran scorer Allen Iverson if their scoring problems persist.

The Bucks snapped a three-game ATS losing streak in its narrow 100-98 home loss to Orlando as 7-point home underdogs on Saturday.

Ersan Ilyasova went off for a fine a double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds in the loss and veteran guard Luke Ridnour added 20 points off the bench.

* Bulls are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 vs. NBA Central.
* Bulls are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games.
* Bulls are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 vs. Eastern Conference.
* Bucks are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 vs. Eastern Conference.
* Bucks are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games.
* Bucks are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games as a home favorite.

Analysis: Neither one of these teams have topped the 100-point plateau in any of their last four games while giving up at least 100 points in each contest.

However, the two ballclubs really don’t have much in common with Chicago getting routed each time out and losing the four games by an average of 19.2 points per contest while Milwaukee lost two games by a combined five points.

This game should make for an interesting affair for NBA diehards, but I like the Bucks to win and cover the spread with room to spare after going a spotless 6-0 ATS in their last six games versus Eastern Conference opponents.

Chicago has gone 0-4 ATS in its last four road games while the Bucks have recorded a fantastic 8-2 ATS mark in their last 10 home games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall.

Take the Bucks to cover the narrow spread in this one.
