Budinger’s Double-Double
December 17, 2009
Denton Ramsey made a pretty good point in article on Tuesday’s nights Rockets game, focusing on the play of Chase Budinger over the return of Tracy McGrady or the absence of Trevor Ariza. I think he’s right that the Houston Rockets have one of the best general managers, and organizations in general, in the NBA.
Budinger’s double-double in his first career start overshadowed Tracy McGrady made his infamous return to the hardwood. This gave the state of Texas a true introduction to the Rockets’ second round pick out of Arizona and Budinger took advantage by making shots and running the floor.
He put on quite a show by raining down threes and dunking off alley-oop passes, scoring 16 points as well as pulling down 12 boards to help Houston beat the Detroit Pistons 107-96. If Budinger can continue to play well with Ariza back in the lineup, this team could put together an impressive finish to the 2009-10 season.
