The Philadelphia 76ers and Washington Wizards have been two of the most disappointing teams in all of basketball this season.  Both ballclubs have underachieved at amazingly high rates this season despite having veteran-laden rosters that should be producing better results.  Tonight, both struggling teams will be looking to get back in the win column following losses in their respective last contests.  Taking a look at the NBA point spreads it appears that the books feel like this game is kind of a toss up, with the game listed as a pick em and the total set at 206.  If you are looking to get in on the action, then you have to sign up at BetUS to take advantage of the $500 in FREE bonus money they offer!

The 76ers have been consistently uninspired all season long and allowed six Los Angeles Clippers players to reach double figures in scoring in the team’s 112-107 overtime loss to L.A. on Saturday.  Philadelphia failed to cover the NBA moneyline as a 3.5-point home favorite and have alternated ATS wins and losses in each of their last five games while going a dismal 3-7 ATS over its last 10 games total.  The Sixers have won just two of their last 10 games overall and will be without veteran shooting guard Allen Iverson tonight as he is sidelined with arthritis in the knee.

Washington has been every bit as pathetic as the Sixers this season and then some. The Wizards were routed by the Phoenix Suns on Saturday, losing 121-95 and never coming close to cashing in betting enthusiasts as 10.5-point road underdogs.  Washington has won just one of its last eight games while going 3-7 SU and 4-5-1 ATS over its last 10 games overall.

Analysis: I’ll be totally honest and admit that wagering on either one of these inconsistent teams could be dangerous to your sanity – which is exactly why my pick for tonight’s contest is a simple O/U play.  The Sixers and Wizards have both been absolute dogs when it comes to providing pro basketball bettors with consistent paydays this season (unless you’re betting against them) and tonight’s matchup is no different. Neither ballclub has identified their identities this season and seem to be playing with a mindless abandon that is good for only one thing – allowing a lot of points. Philadelphia has allowed over 100 points in five of their last eight losses while Washington has given up 100 points or more in five of its last seven losses overall. Philadelphia is ranked 22nd in points allowed per game (101.8) with Washington just one spot back (102.6) and that lack of commitment to defense is what causes both teams to lose so consistently.  With all that said NBA betting fanatics, the easy pick for this matchup is to simply play the Over.  206 total points may look like it’s a bit high, but when you consider the fact that baskets will almost assuredly be very easy to come by tonight, I believe this selection is an absolute lock.
