Eitan Rosenberg offered up some NBA All-Star predictions that I feel are worth a look. Even though the season is only just over a month old, and there are still two months til the All-Star game, it’s never too early to start talking about who deserves a vote on the All-Star ballots.

Eitan makes a good point that this year injury-riddled players from the past won’t be earning spots.  Also, thanks to injuries, there  shouldn’t be fear of global sensations like Yao Ming, or Yi Jinlian making undeserved appearances on the their respective All-Star squads.

Let’s take a look at who should be on the teams, starting with the East:

Kevin Garnett – His stats may not be out of this world, but he has large fan appeal and was amongst the top All-Star vote-getters the last several seasons.

LeBron James – The Cavs may not be off to a great start, but LeBron is still putting up near triple-double numbers on a nightly basis.

Dwight Howard – The Magic have the best record in the East, and Howard is putting up his usual big numbers.

Vince Carter – With the Magic doing so well they could get two starters, plus Carter is a fan-favorite.

Dwayne Wade – He’s a one-man show down in Miami.

Reserves – Chris Bosh, Gerald Wallace, Paul Pierce, Joe Johnson, Rajon Rondo, Danny Granger, and Brandon Jennings.

Now let’s take a look at the roster for the Western Conference.

Tim Duncan – Scoring 18.5 points and grabbing 10.8 rebounds per game even having to deal with injuries to the rest of his team.

Carmelo Anthony – The top scorer in the league at more than 30 points per game and could be poised for this year’s MVP.

Amare Stoudemire – Even though he’s not your typical center, Amare is putting up 19.2 points and grabbing 7.1 rebounds per game.

Kobe Bryant – He is averaging nearly 29 points, five boards, and four assists per contest for perhaps the best team in the entire league.

Steve Nash – He continues to defy logic. Even though he’s getting older he has this team off to a 14-5 start with his 11.5 assists per game.

Reserves – Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Durant, Andrew Bynum, Brandon Roy, Jason Kidd, Deron Williams, Pau Gasol
